David Henry Hwang’s The Dance and the Railroad opens off-Broadway on February 25. The two-hander drama, which recently extended its run, will play through March 24 at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
The play stars Ruy Iskandar as Ma and Yuekun Wu as Lone, two Chinese workers laboring around the Transcontinental Railroad in 1867. The pair struggles with poverty, hunger and trying to connect to the traditions of their homeland.
The Dance and the Railroad features set design by Mimi Lien, costume design by Jennifer Moeller, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, sound design by Broken Chord Collective and music by Huang Ruo. May Adrales directs.
